Review of access to mobile communications and transition to cashless payments in Communication Services
On November 10, at the Communications Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the head of the Communications Service, Beg Sabur, held a meeting with communications representatives, representatives of mobile communication companies and Internet providers, banks and Open Joint Stock Holding Company Tajik Electricity in order to fulfill the instructions of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, dated December 23, to improve the quality of services, reduce the cost of mobile communications and Internet services and increase – high-speed Internet is available in all regions of the country, and the Decree of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan “On measures to expand non-cash payments” dated June 22 of this year was adopted.
At the next meeting, the progress of practical work in the direction of strengthening access to mobile communications and the Internet in all regions of the country, eliminating seasonal communication barriers during the cold season and creating conditions for non-cash payments that were established in the previous meetings were discussed and gifts were exchanged in order to jointly decide current issues.
At the meeting, it was noted that effective interaction between related structures with mobile companies and officials in the communications sector has been established, and the process of eliminating shortcomings in the field is gaining momentum. Work continues especially urgently to install new broadcast equipment in areas where communications and access to the Internet are poor.
Head of the Communications Service Beg Sabur, following the results of the work done, said that although there have been achievements in increasing the mood of the wave of mobile communications and access to the Internet, reducing the cost of services in this area, eliminating seasonal obstacles to communication in the cold season and non-cash payments, but this It’s not enough; officials’ priority is to take more practical measures.
As the head of the Communications Service noted, society’s demand for the communications sector is gradually increasing, and the development of all areas largely depends on a high level of access to the Internet. For this reason, communications officials should always strive to improve the mechanism of mobile communications and the Internet in all regions of the country.
At the end of the meeting, the participants agreed that they would accelerate mutual support in order to ensure full access to mobile communications and the Internet in the country as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Beg Sabur, head of the communications service, said that the communications service, as an industry regulator, is helping to reduce the costs of mobile operators to modernize the communications industry.
Beg Sabur also invited representatives of Open Joint Stock Holding Company, Tajik Electricity banks and financial organizations to provide additional assistance in the implementation of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan “On measures to expand non-cash payments” dated June 22, 2023. .
It was said that especially in the areas of increasing the level of technical literacy of users of post-terminals in the field, connecting post-terminals to the appropriate billing systems, reducing the costs of non-cash payments and cooperation with all mobile operators on the use of their SIM cards, Open Joint Stock Holding Company Tajik Electricity, banks and financial organizations – this is a necessary order.
