Information on reissuing SIM cards with passports of 2014

In order to implement the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan dated February 13, 2023 No. 35 on amendments to the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan dated April 30, 2016 No. 207-7 “On the procedure and requirements for connecting to the telecommunication network and related services”, cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, State Committee for National Security of the Republic of Tajikistan and mobile communication companies, the above decision was extended until February 15. In 2024, work will be carried out to verify the purchase and sale of SIM cards, connect customers to the telecommunication network and consider cases of administrative offenses under this resolution.

According to information provided by mobile operators, to date, 7 million 377 thousand 255 SIM card numbers have been registered with a passport of a citizen of the Republic of Tajikistan (ID-card), including 5 million 643 thousand 454 active clients with ID numbers . This re-registration figure from February 1 to June 28, 2023 includes 851,169 SIM cards.

Currently, mobile operators have disabled mobile users whose SIM cards are still used with a passport of a citizen of the Republic of Tajikistan dated 1996 and who have not been re-registered in accordance with this Order.
Until this period, in the Republic of Tajikistan, the total number of registered SIM-cards (legal entities and individuals) of mobile users is 8 million 302 thousand 529 numbers.
