The Intricacies of Technology: A Key to Understanding Modern Internet Culture
The advent of new technological devices has broadened the scope of internet culture and made its use more widespread. While internet access was once possible only through computers, today it can be reached via mobile phones, tablets, and even smart TVs. This indicates that the technical aspect of the Internet has become significantly more complex and is rapidly evolving. It’s no surprise that the Internet is often compared to a web, and its global reach underscores how it continues to expand in all directions every day.
Therefore, understanding the technical intricacies of the Internet has become an important part of internet culture. Experience shows that a misunderstanding of the technical aspects of Internet usage can lead to legal violations, addiction, negative impacts on human health, problems with Internet access, and other similar issues. One of the intriguing features of the Internet, unlike other means of disseminating information, is that every user can be both a producer and a consumer.
Therefore, understanding the technical intricacies of the Internet has become an important aspect of internet culture. Experience shows that a misunderstanding of the technical aspects of Internet usage can lead to legal violations, addiction, negative effects on human health, problems with Internet access, and other related issues. One of the intriguing features of the Internet, unlike other means of disseminating information, is that every user can be both a producer and a consumer.
Research on internet users shows that the majority of Tajik users are aged between 15 and 45 years. The technical culture and use of communication technologies are also growing year by year among the youth. This phenomenon contributes to an increase in the level of useful engagement with this global network. Undoubtedly, the rapid and consistent popularity of the Internet in Tajik society increases the demand for modernization in the telecommunications sector, the expansion of radio coverage, the improvement of service quality, and similar aspects. In this regard, the Communications Service considers itself responsible; however, in some cases, users can enhance their access to the Internet by adhering to certain technical rules. We will mention these points later. First, we will briefly discuss the reform process in this sector.
Research on internet users shows that the majority of Tajik users are aged between 15 and 45 years. The technical culture and use of communication technologies are also growing year by year among the youth. This phenomenon contributes to an increase in the level of meaningful engagement with this global network. Undoubtedly, the rapid and consistent popularity of the Internet in Tajik society increases the demand for modernization in the telecommunications sector, the expansion of radio coverage, the improvement of service quality, and similar aspects. In this regard, the Communications Service considers itself responsible; however, in some cases, users can enhance their access to the Internet by following certain technical guidelines. We will mention these points later. First, we will briefly discuss the reform process in this sector.
Citizens should understand that with the increasing demand for the Internet, the constant improvement of telecommunications technologies, and the emergence of new communication standards, the workload on the technical tasks of those responsible in this field is increasing, requiring significant financial investments. Nevertheless, to enhance the capacity and technical capabilities of telecommunications base stations, the speed of Internet access should be no less than 30-32 Mbps for each user. The capacity and bandwidth of external Internet access channels, along with additional backup channels, have been expanded to 400 Gbps.
In total, there are 15,782 base stations operating in the Republic of Tajikistan, all of which will be upgraded as part of the sector reforms.
Analysis shows that the demand for mobile communication, especially the Internet, has significantly increased in recent years, and at the same time, the technologies for Internet access have also evolved. It should be noted that due to the mountainous geography of the country, ensuring radio coverage in the Republic of Tajikistan is a more challenging task compared to neighboring countries and requires significant expenditure. The modernization and upgrading of a single base station can cost several thousand dollars. Despite this, with government support, the Communications Service, in cooperation with mobile operators, is actively continuing the sector’s reform.
The Communications Service responsibly states that in the last three years, primary attention has been directed towards the regions. During this period, the quality of mobile communication has improved in most remote areas.
It should be noted that, in fact, the majority of requests are related to the development and improvement of mobile communication services and internet speed in the cities and districts of the republic. Depending on the resolution of existing issues, specialists from the Communications Service and mobile companies conduct measurements and install additional base stations, and currently, work on network development continues. At the same time, requests from the regions are gradually decreasing, which is evidence of the gradual elimination of internet access issues.
The Communications Service and its structures operate contact centers to address technical issues and requests related to communication (tel. 2210009, 7070, 8080, 500, etc.).
It should be noted that the Communications Service, within its authority, adheres to and implements the requirements of the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On Appeals of Individuals and Legal Entities,” thoroughly, comprehensively, and impartially reviewing the requests received by the Service within the established timeframes, making every effort to eliminate shortcomings and resolve problems.
At the same time, customers are advised that if they encounter difficulties in accessing the Internet, they should use a SIM card from another operator. From an economic and social perspective, this issue is understandable; however, there is indeed a problem, as the quality of mobile service is uneven in some regions. To address this issue, in recent years, during the renovation and modernization of communication base stations, the Communications Service has decided to install transmitters of all mobile companies with the same capacity. This measure aims to create equal opportunities for mobile operators and accessibility for mobile communication users.
Finally, another issue that Internet users should pay attention to is the correct technical setup of their mobile phones. For example, if you are in an area where 4G service is unavailable, you should select the 3G standard on your mobile phone. This way, your access to the Internet will be ensured.
