Deputy Head of the Communications Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan Ilkhomjon Atoev took part in the meeting of the heads of ministries and departments of the SCO member states on the development of information and communication technologies. On February 1, 2024, in the city of Almaty, under the chairmanship of Kazakhstan, a meeting of the heads of ministries and departments responsible for the development of information and communication technologies of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization was held.
The event was attended by heads and representatives of ministries and departments of the SCO member states responsible for the development of information and communication technologies, representatives of the SCO secretariat, experts from observer countries and SCO dialogue partners, as well as representatives of diplomatic missions. event.
The participants discussed the exchange of best experience in the field of information and communication technologies in their countries, digitalization of the economies of the SCO countries, problems and prospects of digitalization for sustainable development, plans and prospects for development.
Heads of ministries and departments responsible for the development of information and communication technologies also noted the existing problems of digital inequality between countries and social groups.
In order to promote digital partnership for the sustainable development of the digital economy, the parties agreed to maintain and strengthen existing relations and continue to exchange best practices in the field of information and communication technologies, thereby actively contributing to the gradual reduction of the digital divide.
The meeting participants expressed an opinion on deepening cooperation towards the development of digital transformation and the digital economy, which will give new impetus to the innovative and technological development of the economies of the SCO countries.
The parties also agreed to cooperate in promoting e-government solutions, sharing knowledge about successful experiences and exploring opportunities for joint projects.
